On the morning of March 5, People’s Defense Forces successfully engaged two military helicopters belonging to the terrorist military council in Seikphyu Township, Magway Region. The incident occurred around 9:35 AM when local resistance forces from Myaing and Pauk areas targeted two helicopters that had departed from military post 22 using Point-5 weapons. The engagement demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in challenging the military council’s air assets.
During the attack, one helicopter pilot from the terrorist military council sustained a severe leg injury from gunfire, which according to internal sources, may require surgical intervention. Following the engagement, one of the helicopters responded with machine gun fire while the other, which had been conducting reconnaissance, ceased its operations and was forced to return to military post 22. This incident marks a significant achievement for the local resistance forces in their ongoing struggle against the military council’s aerial operations.
The People’s Defense Forces have issued warnings to local civilians about the dangers of military air strikes and advised them to take necessary precautions. This warning comes as the terrorist military council frequently conducts aerial attacks against civilian populations, making it crucial for residents to remain vigilant and maintain appropriate defensive measures. The resistance forces continue to emphasize the importance of civilian safety while conducting their operations against military council forces that have been oppressing the local population.
