People’s Defense Forces successfully attacked and captured a military council camp stationed at the Nagarpat Mountain Monastery in Mingun Taung Village, Sagaing Township, Sagaing Region on June 27. The operation was jointly carried out by the Unicorn Guerrilla Force and the No More Dictatorship (NMD) forces, beginning around 1 PM, as confirmed by a responsible official from the Unicorn Guerrilla Force.
During the attack, four military council soldiers were killed, and another four were captured alive. The resistance forces also seized military equipment including four G3 rifles, two MA1 rifles, and various ammunition. Although the military council had stationed approximately 30 troops at the location, the remaining soldiers fled during the attack. The operation resulted in the complete capture of the military council camp.
One member of the People’s Defense Force sustained non-life-threatening injuries during the operation. The responsible official from the Unicorn Guerrilla Force stated that they did not burn or destroy the camp due to its location within monastery grounds. Despite the arrival of military reinforcements from the Mingun Police Station, the resistance forces successfully maintained control of the entire camp. The operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of the People’s Defense Forces in their resistance against the military council’s presence in the region.
