According to statements from People’s Defense Forces (PDF), 32 members of the military council forces were killed in various engagements across Myanmar on April 26. These casualties were reported from multiple battles in different states and regions throughout the country, based on data compiled from local defense force statements and reports.
It should be noted that independent journalists and organizations have not been able to verify these casualty figures on the ground due to access restrictions and security concerns. However, according to statements from local People’s Defense Forces, military council forces have suffered significant losses due to defensive operations and strategic engagements by resistance forces.
The People’s Defense Forces continue to defend their territories against military council incursions and work to protect civilians from military violence. The international community has recognized that military council forces have been committing various human rights violations against civilians, including arbitrary arrests, torture, and killings. The resistance forces maintain their commitment to defending local populations while documenting military casualties and operations across the country.
