According to statements and reports from People’s Defense Forces (PDF), 25 members of the military council forces were killed in various engagements across Myanmar on May 3. These casualties were reported from different battles throughout the country, based on data compiled from local defense forces in various regions. The deaths of military council troops occurred during clashes with People’s Defense Forces across different locations in the country.
However, it should be noted that these casualty figures are based solely on statements and reports from local defense forces, and independent journalists and organizations have not been able to verify these deaths on the ground due to access restrictions. The military council’s information blockade has made it difficult to conduct independent news gathering and verification of such incidents. The actual situation on the ground cannot be independently confirmed due to limitations on press freedom and access to conflict areas.
People’s Defense Forces regularly release information about their military operations and battle results, including documentation of military council casualties. However, the military council rarely publishes information about their own casualties and tends to withhold information about battles from the public. As a result, it remains challenging to definitively confirm the exact number of military council troop casualties in these engagements. The lack of transparency from the military council and restricted access to conflict zones makes independent verification of casualty figures extremely difficult.
