
The People’s Defense Force (PDF) of Sagaing Township is providing supplies to monasteries and nunneries in the Sagaing Hills region that have been affected by the earthquake and have limited access to aid. The Earthquake Relief Committee, formed by the joint forces of Sagaing Township PDF, People’s Forces, and People’s Liberation Forces, is actively supporting monks, nuns, and civilians facing livelihood difficulties due to the earthquake in Sagaing city and the Sagaing-Min Wun hills area, which are under military council control.
Additionally, the Sagaing Township PDF is providing food supplies to more than 500 households affected by the earthquake within Sagaing Township. Specifically, Zone 2 of Sagaing Township PDF and Battalion 2 of the Township PDF have led efforts to distribute 44 bags of rice, 10 barrels of cooking oil, 1,000 viss of onions, and tomatoes to earthquake-affected households.
Simultaneously, People’s Defense Forces in Bago Region are also providing support to earthquake-affected civilians. On March 30, the Bago Region PDF, Pyay Township PDF, and the People’s Defense Force Battalion 3503 Daungphyu Column jointly assisted in repairing houses, roads, and bridges damaged by the earthquake in the Sittaung River Valley controlled areas. The Pyay Township PDF has also donated 1.5 million kyats for reconstruction efforts.
