The Taungoo Air Base serves as a crucial military installation for the junta’s war crimes and has been actively involved in conducting airstrikes against revolutionary forces in the southern region. The military council, having suffered numerous defeats in ground operations against People’s Defense Forces, has increasingly relied on air power for its operations. The military has been targeting civilians across the country, including the recent bombing of a school in Ohtein Kwin village in Depayin Township, which resulted in the deaths of students and teachers. The resistance forces have emphasized the importance of dismantling the military’s air capabilities, including its aircraft, pilots, fuel supplies, and bomb manufacturing facilities, as a crucial step toward the success of the Spring Revolution.
