
On June 19, the People’s Defense Guerrilla Force (P.D.G.F) of Yaychaung Township and the Dawei Defense Team (DDT) held a ceremony celebrating the 80th birthday of State Counsellor and public leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi (Mother Suu). During the ceremony, members of the defense forces carried photos of Mother Suu and celebrated with birthday cakes in her honor.
The People’s Defense Forces offered prayers for Mother Suu’s freedom and made resolutions to continue their struggle until the military dictatorship is completely abolished. During the ceremony, the members paid tribute to Mother Suu’s democracy movement and her contributions to public welfare. They commemorated her political journey and sacrifices for the people.
The defense force members expressed their deep appreciation for Mother Suu’s leadership and sacrifices for the people, pledging to continue their united struggle for democracy under her leadership. The ceremony served to boost the morale of people suffering under the military dictatorship. The event demonstrated the continued support and respect for Aung San Suu Kyi’s leadership among resistance forces, despite her current detention by the military regime.
