
In Gwaytaukhkone village of Taungdwingyi Township, Magway Region, a broker named Ye Kyaing, who had been forcibly collecting military service fees from civilians, was killed in a targeted operation by People’s Defense Forces, according to officials from the Magway Guerrilla Force. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM on May 20th, when forces entered his residence. Ye Kyaing was known to collaborate with police forces under the military council, filing false charges against local residents and extorting money from them.
The broker had been working alongside the military council-appointed administrator Pyan Hlwar to forcibly collect military service fees from local residents. Gwaytaukhkone village is located closest to the Pyarpgyi police station, and reportedly has seven individuals who have undergone Pyu Saw Htee training. The area also houses military council-appointed administrators, informants, members of the people’s militia, General Administration Department staff, and other government employees working under the military council’s administration.
Ko Kan Gyi Maung, the leader of the Magway Guerrilla Force, issued a warning to Pyu Saw Htee members, military council-appointed administrators, informants, militia members, and government staff to cooperate with the People’s Defense Forces and cease oppressing civilians, stating that decisive action would be taken if they continued their harmful activities. He also advised local residents to stay away from areas where military council forces are present. The operation was confirmed to have been carried out jointly by the Magway Guerrilla Force and the Taungdwingyi Fighter Force (LPDF).
