The Yangon Army (YA) and Western District People’s Defense Force jointly carried out an attack using hand grenades on the military council’s administrative office in Ward 141, Dagon Myothit (South) Township, Yangon Region. According to a Yangon Army official who spoke to Yangon Modern News Agency, the attack occurred at 10:01 PM on March 8. The operation was conducted in response to continuous oppression of local residents by the ward administrator and his associates.
The Yangon Army spokesperson indicated that the ward administrator and his subordinates were likely casualties in the attack. They further stated that such operations would continue until the complete collapse of the military dictatorship. The resistance forces have committed to ongoing operations against administrative mechanisms under the military council, citing their involvement in forced military recruitment, extortion, and intimidation of local civilians.
People’s Defense Forces are systematically targeting the military council’s administrative infrastructure within Dagon Myothit (South) Township to dismantle their control. They have announced their intention to continue removing military council-affiliated organizations and collaborators while protecting the security and rights of the civilian population. The resistance forces emphasized their commitment to defending public interests against the military council’s oppressive governance structure.
