People’s Defense Forces conducted simultaneous attacks on important military council positions in Myingyan City, Mandalay Region, resulting in eight casualties among military soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee members. The coordinated attacks targeted the district office, police training school, Zichan military checkpoint, and Sagawa checkpoint, beginning at 10 AM on May 15. The operation was carried out as part of the Anyar Land Operation.
The attacks were jointly conducted by the Myingyan Black Tiger (MBT) force, Burmese Guerrilla Force (BGF), and Bo Sar Guerrilla Force. During the fighting, casualties on the military council’s side included one soldier, two female Pyu Saw Htee members, and five male Pyu Saw Htee members, as confirmed by Colonel Mike Khae, the leader of the Myingyan Black Tiger force.
The resistance forces were unable to capture the military positions during the battle, partly due to the urban location leading to information leaks. The military council’s forces were reportedly three to four times larger than initially estimated, which prevented the resistance forces from seizing any weapons. There were reports of civilian casualties during the fighting, prompting the Myingyan Black Tiger force to urge civilians to avoid staying near military council installations and checkpoints.
The People’s Defense Forces announced their intention to continue operations toward a full city liberation campaign following this operation. All resistance force members successfully withdrew without casualties. This battle is part of ongoing operations aimed at weakening military council control in the Myingyan region. The resistance forces demonstrated their ability to coordinate complex attacks on multiple targets simultaneously, even though they were unable to capture the positions due to the military council’s unexpectedly large presence in the urban area.
