The Ayar Daung group has confirmed that People’s Defense Forces successfully attacked a military council camp stationed in Pyusawthi village of Aung Tha Be Village, Pakokku Township, Magway Region, resulting in casualties among military council forces. The attack took place at around 5 AM on May 25, targeting a military council camp where over 100 soldiers and their affiliated militia members were stationed. The operation was carried out after receiving intelligence about the military presence in the area.
The coordinated attack was conducted by a coalition of resistance forces including Pakokku District Mobile Force Unit 5 (Ayar Daung), Pauk PDF B.L.Y Guerrilla Force, King Fighter (SGF), All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF) Military Column 3, and Pauk PDF Zone 4 forces. The engagement lasted approximately 15 minutes, during which one resistance fighter sustained non-life-threatening injuries. While the exact number of casualties among military council soldiers and Pyusawthi members could not be immediately confirmed, reports indicate there were significant losses on the military council’s side.
The military council forces in this region have been reportedly engaging in various forms of civilian harassment, including forced taxation and requisition of supplies from local residents. This attack was part of ongoing resistance operations aimed at diminishing the military council’s ability to maintain control over the area and their capacity to continue oppressive actions against local civilians. The People’s Defense Forces continue to monitor the situation in the region and maintain their commitment to protecting civilian populations from military council aggression. The successful coordination between multiple resistance groups in this operation demonstrates the growing effectiveness of anti-military council forces in the region.
