People’s Defense Forces launched an attack on two military council camps in Depayin town, Sagaing Region, using two 107mm rocket artillery shells to commemorate Anti-Fascist Day. The attack took place at 7:12 PM on March 27, targeting military personnel, police, and Pyu Saw Htee militia members stationed at Kon Tha Oo and the high school compound in Depayin town. The joint operation was carried out by the Freedom Revolution Force (FRF) and Depayin Township PDF forces. According to an FRF official, both rockets successfully hit their intended targets.
Although military council forces responded with small arms fire after the attack, the resistance forces were able to withdraw safely without any casualties. The FRF official further explained that the military camps currently maintain a force of over 100 personnel, noting that their numbers had been reinforced by two helicopter deployments following previous battles. The extent of casualties and damage inflicted on the military council forces is still being investigated. The attack demonstrates the continued resistance operations against military occupation in the region, with PDF forces maintaining their capability to strike strategic targets despite the military council’s presence.
