The revolutionary forces successfully captured two strategic military council camps – Blay Do and Thay Baw Boe – in Kawkareik Township along the Myanmar-Thai border, leading to widespread celebrations among local residents. The joint operation between the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and People’s Defense Force (PDF) Strategy 32 resulted in the complete takeover of these significant military council positions.
The offensive began with the capture of Blay Do camp on May 23, followed by the successful seizure of Thay Baw Boe camp on June 3. During these operations, the revolutionary forces secured substantial amounts of weapons and ammunition. Local civilians welcomed the revolutionary forces with flowers and showed their strong support following these victories. The successful capture of these camps represents a significant blow to the military council’s control in southeastern Myanmar while demonstrating the military capabilities and coordinated efforts of the revolutionary forces.
The loss of these strategic border camps has further diminished the military council’s territorial control capabilities. The active participation and support from local communities have strengthened the revolutionary movement. These victories highlight the growing effectiveness of coordinated resistance operations and the continuing erosion of military council control in border regions. The overwhelming public response to these successes demonstrates the strong civilian backing for revolutionary forces in their struggle against the military council’s oppression.
