On July 19, local residents in a village in Gangaw Township, Sagaing Region, held a ceremony commemorating the 76th Martyrs’ Day. The ceremony was held at the Memorial for Fallen People, where local residents gathered to pay their respects. The event was attended by villagers, youth, and children who paid tribute to the martyred leaders.
During the ceremony, participants carried photographs of the martyred leaders and paid their respects while observing moments of silence. They also decorated the area in front of the portraits of the martyred leaders with flower bouquets and lit candles in their honor. The local residents remembered the sacrifices made by the martyred leaders and pledged to follow their exemplary leadership and principles.
While national-level ceremonies could not be held this year due to the military coup, people across different regions organized their own ceremonies to honor the martyred leaders. In villages throughout Gangaw Township, people were able to hold ceremonies in unity and solidarity to commemorate this significant day.
