On June 19, the People’s Defense Force (PDF) of Kalay District and Strategic Command No. 64 from Military Region 1 held a ceremony commemorating State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi’s 80th birthday. During the ceremony, PDF members paid respects to Aung San Suu Kyi’s portrait and delivered birthday messages in her honor.
At the event, PDF members offered prayers for the swift release of Aung San Suu Kyi, President U Win Myint, and all political prisoners who are currently detained under the military regime. They also collectively prayed for the rapid emergence of the democratic system that the people of Myanmar deeply desire.
The Kalay region PDF forces have been actively participating in the struggle against the military dictatorship and the fight for democracy, while also carrying out various public service activities. By holding this birthday ceremony for Aung San Suu Kyi, they have helped boost the morale of the people who continue to resist the military dictatorship.
