
The People’s Defense Force (PDF) conducted security checks along the old Yangon-Mandalay road in Bago Region on March 27, as confirmed by Operation Commander Comrade Tin Oo from the Southern Military Region’s Operation Area 2. Forces from PDF Strategy 23 carried out the main security operations, and clashes with military council troops occurred in some sections of the road.
A battle broke out at 6:00 AM near Gon Min Da village, north of Nyaung Chaik Htauk in Oaktwin Township, between military council forces and PDF troops. PDF forces captured the military council-appointed Gon Min Da village chairman, and roads were temporarily closed for security reasons according to local residents. Additionally, military council forces were reported to be reinforcing troops at Bagan Chaung village and conducting military column operations.
On March 25 at 10:20 PM, PDF forces attacked a military council convoy on the Paungkaung-Oaktwin expressway section. The battle, which took place between Baw Da village and Paw Lan Gyi village, resulted in casualties on the military council side, as confirmed by the Bago Military Command, Strategy 21, Unit 3, Pyay District Battalion 3602. Subsequently, on March 26 at 1:10 AM, PDF forces also attacked Min Ye Police Station and Nat Yay Twin Police Station on the Yangon-Mandalay expressway, resulting in military council casualties.
