
On March 24th evening, People’s Defense Forces conducted an attack on military council troops stationed at Letmaying Monastery and Thaegyaung Oil Shop in Banbwekone, Nattalin Township, Bago Region’s Thayawady District. According to a responsible official from Phoenix D F – Nattalin Force, the attack resulted in two military personnel killed and three others wounded. The offensive began at 7:40 PM, targeting approximately 70 military council soldiers and Pyu Saw Htee militia members stationed in the area.
The firefight lasted about thirty minutes with exchanges of gunfire between both sides. Following the clash, the deceased and wounded military personnel were transported to Pyay Hospital by ambulance, while the remaining soldiers and militia members retreated to Pyinpon village during the night. The next morning on March 25th, People’s Defense Force members conducted a sweep of the locations previously occupied by military council forces, though no materials were recovered during the inspection. The attack was jointly carried out by Column 2 Phoenix D F and Column 6 AyeYar Nyi Naung of Thayawady District’s Battalion 1, with PDF forces successfully withdrawing without any casualties.
According to a statement from the People’s Defense Force, they will continue to target military council soldiers, police forces, Pyu Saw Htee militia members, and military infrastructure whenever opportunities arise. The public has been warned to avoid areas associated with these forces to prevent civilian casualties. This operation demonstrates the ongoing resistance against the military council’s presence in the region, with local defense forces maintaining their commitment to opposing military occupation while ensuring civilian safety through advance warnings and targeted operations against military positions.
