
On June 22nd at approximately 9 AM, female officers from the Thaung Tha Township People’s Defense Force successfully captured a lance corporal from the military council forces in Myingyan town, Mandalay Region. The arrest occurred after receiving information about military personnel drinking at a local restaurant. The captured soldier was identified as Lance Corporal Aung Win from the Military Heavy Industries Factory No. 1 in Meiktila, who was apprehended while attempting to purchase betel nut while intoxicated.
The operation was carried out by female PDF officers who had been monitoring the situation after receiving intelligence about military council troops drinking at a restaurant in Myingyan town. During the arrest, the officers seized an MA1-type weapon and 250 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition from Lance Corporal Aung Win. According to a responsible official from the Thaung Tha Township PDF, the captured lance corporal is being detained in accordance with international prisoner of war laws, and further investigations will be conducted.
