
A clash between revolutionary forces and the military council troops near Phalangyin village in Pwintbyu Township, Magway Region, resulted in the death of more than ten military council soldiers, according to local residents. On September 3rd, around 11:30 AM, a military column consisting of Pyusawhti members from Infantry Battalion 10 based in Seikphyu and soldiers from the Cotton Cultivation Unit arrived near Phalangyin village. The military convoy included three military trucks and one jeep, carrying approximately 150 personnel.
When the military column arrived, revolutionary forces launched an interceptive attack that lasted until 4 PM. During the battle, the military council suffered casualties, and when military vehicles arrived to transport the dead and wounded, revolutionary forces conducted a secondary mine attack at the entrance of Magyisu village. In these two engagements, more than ten military council soldiers were killed, and at least twelve were wounded. According to a local resident, the military council had to make three separate trips to transport the wounded, ultimately rushing them to the Magway Military Hospital.
By nightfall, the remaining military council troops took shelter in the Mezali village police station, with their numbers reduced to approximately 100 personnel. This incident has been recorded as one of the significant battles in the region, demonstrating the effectiveness of revolutionary forces’ operations and resulting in substantial casualties for the military council. The successful interception and subsequent mine attack highlighted the strategic capabilities of the resistance forces in the area, dealing a considerable blow to the military council’s operations in the Pwintbyu Township region.
