A military convoy of the military council was ambushed near Pantin Inn village in Launglone Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulting in over 30 casualties among military council forces and one revolutionary fighter killed, according to a responsible official from the Duraka Column. The battle, which began at 7:30 AM on June 29, lasted for approximately 10 hours. The confrontation took place along the military council’s route from Dawei Deep Sea Port Special Economic Zone to Nat Eain Mountain, where they were attempting to send reinforcements.
The battle involved a coordinated attack by multiple revolutionary forces, including the Dawei Nationalities Liberation Army (Duraka Column), Democratic Defense Force, Tavoy People Liberation Force, Nagani Guerrilla Force, and Dawn Column (6), against a military council convoy of approximately 300 troops. The revolutionary forces confirmed that there were also wounded among the military council troops during the engagement. One revolutionary fighter was reported to have sacrificed his life in the battle.
Given the current escalation of military operations across the country, revolutionary forces have warned local civilians to exercise caution in their daily movements. In particular, they have advised people to follow air defense guidelines due to the possibility of airstrikes by the military council. Additionally, the Duraka Column has called on soldiers and police personnel within the military council’s forces to defect and join the people’s side as soon as possible.
