According to a representative from the People’s Administration Group of Nyaung Hto Gyi Township, the terrorist military forces conducted a three-day arson campaign in Thusoe Village, Nyaung Hto Gyi Township, Mandalay Region, from September 2 to 4, resulting in the destruction of over 100 homes. The devastating attacks have forced thousands of residents from both the affected village and surrounding areas to flee to safety.
The military forces entered Thusoe Village for the second time, systematically burning houses during their three-day operation. Although the military column has now withdrawn, local residents continue to seek refuge in safer locations. Currently, the military forces have retreated to Myingyan Township, while local resistance forces are conducting area clearance operations in the region.
Previously in August, the military forces had launched operations along the border of Myingyan and Nyaung Hto Gyi townships, killing five women and five men from North Kone Village, Pyawbwe Village, Thamunkine Village, Balun Village, and Kansin Village in Myingyan Township. Additionally, they murdered ten women and six men from Ywa Gyi Village, Thusoe Village, Theitaw Village, and Kyaukse Village in Nyaung Hto Gyi Township.
During these military operations, the forces also burned down numerous villages including Tasi Village, Manle Village, Kyaukse Village, Theitaw Village, Let Wae Village, Chinyar Village, Kanyarshay Village, and Let Thit Bagan Village in Nyaung Hto Gyi Township, as well as Kansin Taung Village, North Village, and Balun Village in Myingyan Township, destroying hundreds of homes. These brutal actions by the military forces have resulted in massive losses of lives and property for local residents, creating an urgent need for humanitarian assistance in the affected areas.
