A spokesperson from Battalion 10, District 4 of Myingyan confirmed that over 10 military council soldiers were killed and weapons were seized when People’s Defense Forces attacked a military column departing from Sone Village in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region. The attack occurred on August 21 at 12:15 PM when People’s Defense Forces ambushed military council troops who were traveling from Sone Village’s Pyu camp toward Ngar Mya police station in one light truck and three motorcycles.
During the battle, more than 10 military council troops were killed, and resistance forces seized three G3 rifles, one MA-11 rifle, three ammunition magazines, and 16 G3 bullets. The spokesperson stated that while they witnessed several bodies of fallen military council soldiers during the fighting, they had to withdraw before retrieving all the bodies due to the arrival of military reinforcements. The successful operation was carried out through coordination between Battalion 4 and Battalion 10 of Myingyan District, along with allied forces including Mandalay District Battalion 5, Kyar Min PDF, Ngar Net PDF, North Region PDF, and Amarapura People’s Defense Force.
The People’s Defense Forces were able to withdraw successfully without any casualties after the engagement. Given the military council’s intensifying offensive operations, resistance leaders are urging civilians to continue supporting the People’s Defense Forces with weapons and supplies while maintaining strong resolve to collectively overcome this period of military aggression. The coordinated attack demonstrates the growing capabilities of resistance forces in their fight against the military council’s oppression of civilians in the region.
