
In a significant clash that occurred in Alaykon Township area of Gyobingauk, Bago Region, more than ten military council soldiers, including Territory Commander Ngwe Soe, were killed. The incident took place on April 24 when People’s Defense Force units intercepted and attacked military council troops who were leaving the Alaykon Township police station heading toward the town. According to a responsible official from the BTZM GBK PDF Bago Yoma-based unit, the resistance forces conducted a coordinated attack that began with mine warfare tactics.
The battle unfolded when the resistance forces initially attacked the military council troops with mines as they were leaving the police station, followed by close-quarter combat. During the intense fighting that ensued, Territory Commander Ngwe Soe and numerous military council soldiers were killed. The resistance forces also suffered one casualty in the battle. The region has been subject to repeated acts of violence and intimidation against local civilians by military council forces, prompting resistance groups to pledge continued operations against military targets.
This engagement represents part of ongoing efforts to control military council movements in the region, with resistance forces maintaining close surveillance of troop movements.
