In Magway Region’s Salin Township, a military post stationed at the Electric Power Corporation (EPC) office in Tanyaung sub-township was attacked by People’s Defense Force (PDF) using heavy weapons, which was followed by an internal conflict among military personnel resulting in one death. According to a responsible official from PDF Territory 3 of Salin Township, the incident occurred on March 16 at the EPC office located between Myohlwa village and Htan-hnit-pin village, where resistance forces launched an artillery attack against the military forces stationed there.
During the attack, two artillery shells reportedly hit and exploded inside the office building. While the immediate casualties from the initial attack were not confirmed, later that night, an argument broke out among the military personnel stationed at the post, which escalated into an armed confrontation. This internal conflict resulted in one soldier’s death and three others being wounded. The resistance forces that conducted the attack were able to withdraw safely without any casualties, as confirmed by the PDF official. The attack was part of the ongoing resistance operations in the Salin area, aimed at protecting the security and rights of local civilians.
This operation represents one of several strategic moves by resistance forces in the region, demonstrating their continued commitment to fighting against military oppression. The People’s Defense Force has stated that they will continue their revolutionary efforts to liberate the people from the oppressive military regime. The incident highlights the growing tensions within military ranks and the effectiveness of resistance operations in the region, as they continue their struggle for the restoration of civilian rule and democratic rights in Myanmar.
