A military soldier was killed and many others were injured when resistance forces conducted 28 drone strikes on the military camp located in Nyaung Gyi Pin Pyu Saw Htee village in Pakokku Township, Magway Region, according to a spokesperson from the Anyar Land Alliance. The attack took place around 1 PM on August 29th and marked the first drone operation by the revolutionary forces in the area. The military camp, which housed approximately 100 personnel including Pyu Saw Htee militia members and their leader Wayama who wore monk robes, was targeted in this coordinated assault.
During the attack, four bombs directly hit the building where Wayama was stationed, while the remaining strikes targeted military bunkers and barracks within the compound. The spokesperson from the Anyar Land Alliance confirmed that one soldier was killed and numerous others sustained injuries in the attack. Following the strikes, Wayama, the Pyu Saw Htee leader, reportedly fled to Naypyidaw as he no longer felt secure remaining at the monastery. The operation demonstrated the increasing military capabilities of the resistance forces in their fight against the military regime’s oppression of civilians in the region.
The operation was jointly carried out by the drone team of the Anyar Land Alliance, the Alintun Guerrilla Force, and the PI PDF group. All resistance fighters successfully withdrew from the area without any casualties after completing the mission. This attack represents a significant response to the military’s ongoing oppression of local civilians and showcases the growing tactical capabilities of the resistance forces. The successful coordination between different resistance groups and their ability to conduct precise drone strikes marks an evolution in their operational capabilities in the fight against the military regime’s control over the region.
