
A military council soldier was killed in an attack on a guard post in Let Pan village, Waw Township, Bago Region, according to a responsible official from the Taung Nyo column. The attack occurred around 8 AM on April 15, resulting in one soldier’s death and another being severely wounded. The operation was jointly carried out by the Taung Nyo Battalion and the People’s Defense Force, with resistance fighters successfully withdrawing without any casualties.
The official from the Taung Nyo column explained that Let Pan village is an area with numerous military council outposts, and the attack was conducted after careful observation of military council troop movements. He emphasized that the Taung Nyo Battalion continues to fight for fallen comrades and civilians, staying true to their motto ‘Taung Nyo Never Falls.’ The joint operation demonstrated the growing capabilities of resistance forces in coordinating successful attacks against military council positions.
Meanwhile, in Salin Township, Magway Region, resistance forces captured a new military recruit alive after an incident where military council troops encountered at least ten landmine explosions during their patrol. The captured soldier was identified as Maung Phoe Aye, a recent graduate from the military training batch 5. According to the Peacock Brother Urban Guerrilla group, the military column retreated after sustaining casualties from the mine explosions. The captured soldier, who had sustained injuries from the mines, was provided necessary medical treatment and is being held under the care of the Peacock Brother Urban Guerrilla group. This incident highlights the ongoing resistance against forced military service and the military council’s operations in various regions of Myanmar.
