
A military council soldier was killed when revolutionary forces attacked two military outposts in Ngwe Dwin Pyu Saw Htee village, Ayartaw Township, Sagaing Region, according to a spokesperson from the Ngwe Dwin Revolution Force. The battle, which occurred on July 17, lasted for 5 hours and resulted in one revolutionary force member sustaining non-life-threatening injuries from stepping on a landmine.
During the battle, military council troops from Ayartaw Training Camp 10 provided artillery support using four howitzers, but the revolutionary forces were able to effectively respond to the attack. After the battle, revolutionary forces successfully located and seized three landmines that had been planted by the military council near Ngwe Dwin Pyu Saw Htee village.
The operation was jointly carried out by Monywa District Battalion 21, Battalion 16, Combat Zones 9, 10, 11, and the Monywa District People’s Defense Force Special Combat Force. During the engagement, one Pyu Saw Htee member was killed and five others were seriously wounded, as confirmed by the revolutionary forces. The revolutionary forces have extended an invitation to the leader of Ngwe Dwin Pyu Saw Htee village and his subordinates to join the people’s side as pro-democracy forces.
