The Karen National Union (KNU) Central has reported that during a six-day period from August 5 to 10, the military forces conducted heavy artillery and drone attacks on villages in Moe Township, Bago Region, resulting in one civilian death and six others sustaining severe injuries. The attacks began on August 5 at 5:20 AM when soldiers from Infantry Battalion 439 based in Kyunwintgwin fired howitzer artillery at Hteebarlo village (Ngabat Inn village), Thayagone village, Myapugyi Chaungkan, Htunigone Ku, and Missalin village, launching 34 shells in total.
Later that morning at 6:40 AM, soldiers from Infantry Battalion 351 at Sinmathaung fired 120mm artillery weapons at Karen Myather village and Bamar Myather village with 9 shells. On August 6 at 5:40 AM, combined forces from Infantry Battalion 351 at Sinmathaung, Infantry Battalion 599 at Dountoe village, and Infantry Battalion 439 from Kyunwintgwin launched attacks using 120mm artillery, firing 10 shells at Karen/Bamar Myather village, Kanyindaing Ku, Ngamyitchin village, and Zahargyi village.
On August 7, Infantry Battalion 439 based in Kyunwintgwin fired howitzer artillery at Ngtoekin Bamar village with 3 shells, causing severe injuries to villagers U Aung Ko Linn, Daw Nan Boe, and U Aung Than Zaw. On August 8, soldiers from Golden Light Battalion 307 fired a 120mm artillery shell at Mathupin village, killing 20-year-old Ko Ye Linn Soe instantly and severely injuring 27-year-old Ko Zeyar Myo.
The attacks continued on August 9, with soldiers from Infantry Battalion 351 at Thanbo camp, Infantry Battalion 351 at Sinmathaung, and Infantry Battalion 439 from Kyunwintgwin launching 10 shells at Bamar Myather village, Karen Myather village, Myaungsein Gyi village, Myaungsein Lay village, and Weikotpayko village. On August 10, soldiers from Infantry Battalion 351 at Thanbo camp conducted a drone strike on Bamar Myather village with one bomb, while soldiers from Natthankwin fired two 120mm artillery shells at Htunigone village, causing severe injuries to Naw Mu Twe and Saw Thargyi, and destroying three houses.
