A civilian was killed when the military council forces launched a drone strike with two bombs on Thayet Chaung village in Letpadan Township, Bago Region, according to an official from the Shwetanmyay People’s Defense Force. The incident occurred around 12:30 PM on September 4, when military council troops stationed in Letpadan town reached Sintalin village and subsequently launched a drone attack with two bombs on Thayet Chaung village. During the attack, one of the bombs struck the house of U Zeyar Lin, a village resident, resulting in one civilian fatality.
The Shwetanmyay People’s Defense Force official detailed that the military council troops, after arriving at Sintalin village from Letpadan town, conducted a drone strike on Thayet Chaung village, which is only about two miles away. One bomb hit U Zeyar Lin’s house, causing the death of one civilian. The military council forces have been conducting unprovoked airstrikes and heavy weapons attacks on villages throughout Thayarwaddy District, even in the absence of any active fighting.
Previously, on August 28, military council forces stationed in Theim Myup village in Oaktho Township had also launched an unprovoked drone strike with two bombs on Daung Lay village. That attack resulted in the immediate deaths of five-year-old Ma Yon Mi Mi and her mother, Daw Zin Ma Thin, age 32. According to local residents, the military council forces have been deliberately targeting civilian areas, leading to frequent casualties among innocent civilians. These attacks demonstrate a pattern of intentional violence against civilian populations, with the military council conducting strikes on residential areas without military targets or active conflicts.
