
The Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) has reported that one civilian was killed in a drone strike carried out by the military council forces on Sam Say village in Naung Cho Township, northern Shan State. On April 1, 2024, at 4:20 PM, military council troops launched a drone attack on Sam Say village from the direction of Thar Kaw village. The bombing resulted in the death of one local resident and damaged one house in the area.
Additionally, on March 31, the military council forces conducted another drone strike on Kyauk Kham village in Naung Cho Township, using a drone equipped with 120mm bombs. Earlier, on March 28 at 1:05 PM, the military council’s jet fighter dropped two 250-pound bombs on Naung Lin village. These aerial attacks by the military council have caused widespread fear and anxiety among local residents, who face daily threats to their lives and safety.
The military council has been frequently conducting aerial attacks and drone strikes against civilian populations, resulting in continuous civilian casualties. These attacks have forced local residents to flee their homes, facing difficulties with basic necessities and security concerns. Human rights organizations and ethnic armed organizations have declared that the military council is committing war crimes by deliberately targeting civilian areas. The ongoing attacks have created a humanitarian crisis in the region, with civilians facing both immediate physical dangers and long-term displacement challenges.
