The incident occurred on June 11 at approximately 5:30 PM when military forces based in Bilin town fired artillery shells that landed and exploded in A Lu Gyi village. The artillery strike resulted in the death of Saw Ngwe La, a resident of A Lu Gyi village, who was hit by artillery shrapnel, while several other civilians were also injured in the attack.
According to a local resident, the military fired artillery indiscriminately without any ongoing battles in the area. The artillery shell hit the roof of a house, resulting in one death and causing severe injuries to others. The artillery strike also caused significant damage to civilian homes and destroyed two vehicles. Local residents report that the military council troops frequently conduct artillery strikes from Bilin town, targeting residential areas where civilians live.
