The military council conducted an airstrike near Bawgyo village in northern Shan State’s Hsipaw Township, an area controlled by the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), without any ongoing ground battle. According to local residents, on September 3 at 1:35 PM, the military council used a Yak-130 fighter jet to bomb the area, resulting in one civilian injury and the destruction of at least five residential houses.
A local resident reported that while houses on the outskirts of the village were damaged, there were no confirmed casualties at the time of reporting. Prior to this incident, on August 18, between 9:30 AM and 9:35 AM, the military also conducted airstrikes on Taungmyo and Western wards in Hsipaw town.
Furthermore, on August 9, the military council carried out an airstrike on the Construction Officer’s quarters near Hsipaw town. While no civilians were injured in that attack, several residential buildings were damaged. During July, another airstrike on Hsipaw town resulted in the death of two men and injuries to one woman and four men. That attack also destroyed 18 houses and one school building, demonstrating the military council’s continued use of airstrikes against civilian areas.
