A civilian was injured when the military council conducted aerial attacks on areas in Wetlet and Sagaing Townships in Sagaing Region, according to local sources. Ko Nagar Lay, a representative from the Wetlet Information Network, confirmed that a J-Fighter jet from Meiktila Air Base conducted two bombing raids around noon on May 10, targeting areas near Pyae Shein Aung pump station west of Shanmagyi village in eastern Wetlet Township and near Talain village in northern Sagaing Township.
The aerial attacks were carried out without any ongoing battles in the area, appearing to be deliberately targeted strikes. The attacks resulted in injuries to a civilian traveler from Sadaung Township, who sustained spinal injuries from bomb fragments, and caused damage to the Pyae Shein Aung pump station. Local residents reported that the military council forces have been conducting these unprovoked aerial attacks frequently to terrorize and intimidate civilian populations in the region.
The Wetlet Information Network representative has warned local residents to remain extremely vigilant about potential air strikes by military council forces and advised them to quickly seek shelter in safe locations when aircraft sounds are heard. The Sagaing Region has experienced frequent civilian casualties from military council air strikes, with ongoing destruction of homes, schools, religious buildings, and businesses. Local sources report that these attacks have resulted in significant loss of civilian lives and property damage throughout the region, as the military council continues its campaign of aerial bombardment against civilian areas without military targets.
