Humanitarian aid in the form of nutritional support has been provided to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Salingyi Township who were forced to flee their homes due to military council operations. The Chindwin River Villages Strike Committee led an initiative to provide a meal donation on behalf of birthday donor Ma Wah Wah Tun to one of the IDP camps in the area.
Residents of Salingyi Township have been displaced for an extended period due to offensive operations by military council forces, with IDP camps facing shortages of food supplies and basic necessities. Through the support of humanitarian organizations and donors, the food security challenges faced by displaced civilians have been partially addressed. The assistance has helped alleviate some of the hardships experienced by those seeking refuge in the camps.
The displaced populations sheltering in IDP camps continue to face long-term displacement as there are no security guarantees for their safe return to their places of origin. They require ongoing support for food, healthcare, education, and other essential needs. Local humanitarian organizations and donors are working to provide assistance to meet these requirements to the best of their abilities, helping sustain those who have been forced from their homes by the military council’s actions.
