
According to a statement released by the National Unity Government’s Ministry of Health, a nurse named U Aye Maung has died following a military airstrike on a clinic in Indaw Township, Sagaing Region. The 61-year-old nurse was known for providing medical care and health services to local ethnic communities and revolutionary forces in the area. He sustained severe injuries during a military air attack in April and succumbed to his wounds on May 22.
In their statement, the NUG Ministry of Health expressed deep condolences to U Aye Maung’s family and reaffirmed their commitment to continue fighting alongside ethnic peoples until the complete elimination of the military dictatorship and the establishment of a Federal Democratic Union in Myanmar. They also pledged to honor the sacrifices of revolutionary heroes who have dedicated their lives, blood, and existence to the fight against the military dictatorship throughout different eras.
