During his speech marking the 4th anniversary of the People’s Defense Force (PDF), National Unity Government (NUG) Prime Minister Man Win Khaing Than announced that the four-year-old PDF forces have been successfully pressuring and achieving victories against the terrorist military that has been built using misappropriated national funds. The People’s Defense Force has been systematically organized nationwide with designated operation areas under effective management, and according to the NUG’s report, it has now established 316 battalions.
The Prime Minister emphasized that within the past four years, the People’s Defense Force has courageously fought against the terrorist military that had been built over many years using misappropriated state funds, achieving significant victories. He specifically highlighted that the collaboration with allied ethnic revolutionary organizations and local defense forces has been a crucial force in these victories. He stressed that these allied groups’ participation has been an essential source of strength for the PDF forces.
The Prime Minister further elaborated that the People’s Defense Force has grown with support from Myanmar people not only within the country but also worldwide, transforming into a people’s army with comprehensive military, organizational, and administrative capabilities. He emphasized their firm commitment to continue fighting until achieving revolutionary victory and completely eliminating the military dictatorship system. He reiterated that the People’s Defense Force, emerging from the public as true patriots, has firmly resolved to protect people’s lives and properties, aiming to uproot the military dictatorship system that has suppressed the country and driven its people into poverty for many years.
