The National Unity Government (NUG) will undergo reforms to remove the violent military council and establish a new state, while NUG ministers can now travel as far as Sagaing and Magway regions, according to Interim President Duwa Lashi La and Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than. These statements were made during the NUG’s 19/2025 meeting held at 10 AM on July 29.
Interim President Duwa Lashi La emphasized that as the NUG implements reforms, revolutionaries must stand for truth and continue their selfless dedication to the cause. He stated that only through removing the military council, whether by political or military means, can their envisioned just and prosperous Federal Union of Myanmar emerge, which he noted is the desire of all people. He stressed that while current ministerial performance is satisfactory, there is always room for improvement in this constantly evolving world.
Prime Minister Mann Win Khaing Than expressed confidence that with NUG ministers now able to travel to Sagaing and Magway regions, they can more effectively manage revolutionary activities. He clarified that as a government representing the entire country, they will formulate policies considering the whole nation rather than treating northern and southern regions separately. While tactical implementation may vary by region, the fundamental policies must be uniform nationwide. He emphasized that their administrative efforts are laying the groundwork for a genuine federal democratic system, making it crucial to establish strong foundations from the beginning.
