A significant attack was carried out on the Northwest Military Command Headquarters (NaMaKha) in Monywa Township, Sagaing Region, targeting both the command headquarters office and helicopter landing zone with 107mm rockets. According to a spokesperson from Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM), the operation took place on March 23 at 9:43 PM. The coordinated attack was conducted jointly by several resistance forces including Brave Warriors for Myanmar (BWM), Freedom Revolution Force (FRF), Yan Gyi Aung (Budalin), Shadow (Monywa), and Democratic Rangers. Of the three 107mm rockets fired during the operation, two successfully hit their intended targets.
The Northwest Military Command Headquarters serves as a crucial military installation that oversees military operations across Sagaing Region, Magway Region, and Chin State. This command center has been responsible for directing numerous military operations against civilians in these regions, including ground offensive operations, mass killings, and aerial bombardments using both aircraft and mechanized paratroopers. The attack was designated as BWM Mission 32 and was carried out as a pre-emptive strike ahead of Anti-Fascist Revolution Day, targeting this strategic military installation due to its significant role in orchestrating military operations against civilians in these regions.
BWM officials have stated that they are continuing to assess the extent of damage caused by the attack and will release further details as they become available. The resistance alliance, led by BWM and its partner organizations, has declared their commitment to continuing their strategic operations against key military targets, including air force installations and other significant military infrastructure. They have emphasized their determination to work systematically with like-minded revolutionary forces to achieve their ultimate goal of completely dismantling the military dictatorship. This operation represents part of their broader strategy to target and neutralize key military command and control centers that have been instrumental in carrying out operations against civilians across multiple regions of Myanmar.
