
On May 2, the No Turning Back Revolution People’s Strike Column led a peaceful protest march in Yinmabin Township, Sagaing Region, to demonstrate against the military dictatorship. Local residents participated in the protest to demand the complete end of the military dictatorship and the establishment of a federal democratic system. The people’s strike column marched systematically through the city streets, carrying signs and banners opposing the military dictatorship, calling for the return of the elected government and expressing their opposition to the military coup.
Yinmabin Township has been consistently opposing the military coup since its inception, and local residents have actively participated in movements against the authoritarian system. This protest served to expose to the world the oppression and human rights violations that people are suffering under the military dictatorship. Although the people’s strike column demonstrated through non-violent and peaceful means, they boldly stood against the unjust oppression of the military dictatorship system.
Protesters highlighted the economic, social, and educational difficulties that people are facing under military rule. They demanded an end to military violence, arbitrary arrests and detentions, and the destruction and looting of civilian property. The No Turning Back Revolution People’s Strike Column clearly demonstrated their firm determination to overthrow the military dictatorship system through people power. The protest represents the continued resistance of Myanmar’s people against military rule and their unwavering commitment to achieving genuine democracy and freedom in their country.
