
On February 28, residents of Longlone Township in Dawei District held a night protest to commemorate the fourth anniversary of four fallen heroes who lost their lives during a violent crackdown on anti-dictatorship protests. The night demonstration was conducted under the theme ‘As Long as Blood on the Streets Remains Fresh, All People Will Rise in Resistance.’
Large numbers of local residents participated in the night protest, paying tribute to the four Dawei national heroes who were killed during anti-dictatorship movements. The participants also honored all martyrs who sacrificed their lives throughout Myanmar’s history of democratic struggle. People laid wreaths as a symbol of mourning for the fallen heroes and renewed their commitment to continue fighting until the military dictatorship is abolished.
This night protest demonstrates that anti-dictatorship movements remain active in Longlone Township and serves as evidence that the people’s desire to fight for democracy remains unquenched. Even amid brutal suppression by the military regime, people continue to stand united in their pursuit of democracy, remembering the sacrifices made by the martyrs.
