Myanmar revolutionary workers across Thailand have launched a photo campaign calling on the International Labour Organization (ILO) to implement Article 33 against Myanmar. Workers from various factories and workplaces in Thailand participated in the campaign, holding signs that read ‘ILO IMPLEMENT ARTICLE 33 ON MYANMAR NOW 2025’ while taking documentary photographs of their protest action.
The campaign participants highlighted that the military council not only violates the basic freedoms of Myanmar people but also systematically infringes upon workers’ rights. They emphasized that the military council has been arresting and torturing labor union leaders and worker representatives, making it necessary for the ILO to take effective action against the regime. The campaign aims to draw international attention to the military council’s violations of labor rights and to prompt meaningful intervention from global organizations.
The campaign was organized by the MHAC Alliance, and they have extended invitations to Myanmar workers from other factories to join the movement. According to Ko Ye Min from AAC, the campaign aims to increase international awareness about the military council’s violations of workers’ rights and to encourage effective action from the international community. They also plan to submit documented evidence of the military council’s labor rights violations to the ILO.
