
Thai media outlets have reported that a Myanmar woman named Ma Phyu Phyu, aged 27, died after being hit by a train when she jumped from a pickup truck crossing railway tracks near Mahachai in Samut Sakhon, Thailand. The incident occurred on May 31 at 8:45 AM when a pickup truck carrying eight Myanmar workers attempted to cross the railway tracks. As the truck was crossing, an approaching train caused panic among the passengers, leading them to jump from the vehicle. During this chaos, Ma Phyu Phyu was struck by the train and died instantly at the scene.
According to eyewitnesses, although the train’s whistle could be heard from a distance, the driver of the pickup truck proceeded to cross the tracks. When the train approached at high speed, the passengers panicked and jumped from the vehicle. While the pickup truck managed to clear the tracks in time and avoided a direct collision with the train, Ma Phyu Phyu, who had jumped from the vehicle, was fatally struck. Local residents have reported that this particular railway crossing is a frequent site of accidents, making it a notably dangerous intersection in the area.
