On September 7, Myanmar nationals residing in the United Kingdom organized a special rose prayer ceremony for State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi during the fourth anniversary fundraising event of Manchester Hintagyi in Manchester. The ceremony was attended by Myanmar families based in the UK, along with NUG representatives to the UK, U Maung Maung Aung and Dr. Kyaw Ko Ko, who delivered messages of hope and solidarity.
Manchester Hintagyi, established four years ago, has been consistently providing support to various regions in Myanmar where assistance is needed. During this year’s fundraising event, participants wore roses as part of a special ceremony to pray for Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s health and well-being. The NUG representatives delivered speeches and joined in prayers for her release and return to the people of Myanmar. The organization has maintained its commitment to supporting those in need within Myanmar through funds raised at such events.
This ceremony represents a significant demonstration of respect and support for leaders fighting for democracy in Myanmar, while also reflecting the unity of the Myanmar diaspora community. The Manchester Hintagyi group continues its mission to channel aid to Myanmar citizens in need through funds raised at such events. The gathering served not only as a fundraising opportunity but also as a moment of collective hope and solidarity for the Myanmar community in the UK, expressing their unwavering support for their detained leader and their aspirations for democratic restoration in their homeland.
