
Revolutionary forces launched attacks on military council troops conducting mine clearance operations along the Monywa-Mandalay road in Sagaing Region, resulting in severe injuries to four soldiers including one officer, according to CDSOM’s Colonel Friday Column. The attack occurred on the evening of February 26th when resistance forces targeted military council troops from Nataykan army base using three mines at the junction leading to Nataykan and Chaung-U. After the attack, the injured soldiers were transported to Yaypontha monastery using a monk’s vehicle for medical treatment.
The following morning on February 27th, resistance forces attacked five military jammer vehicles from the Northwestern Command on the Monywa-Mandalay road using five forward mines and three Padaytha mines. The third vehicle in the convoy was hit and stopped on Batson road. This operation was jointly carried out by the Northwestern People’s Defence Force, Yinmabin District Battalion 9, Monywa District Battalion 11, and other revolutionary forces.
In Yinmabin Township, resistance forces also attacked a convoy of over 30 vehicles carrying copper from Wanbao and Yang Si companies on the morning of February 26th. The attack took place on the Monywa-Pathein road between Police Battalion 28 and North Yamar Bridge, resulting in one vehicle being hit and one driver being injured. After the attack, military council troops transported the injured driver to a hospital using a civilian vehicle and responded by firing heavy weapons and small arms indiscriminately in the surrounding area. The attack was carried out by PDF forces from Yinmabin Township Combat Zone 2, who were able to withdraw safely without casualties according to reports.
