The Mon State Federal Council (MSFC) and Mon State Consultative Council (MSCC) have reached an agreement to combat the terrorist military’s sham election through both military and political means, as announced by Nai Boon Myat, the Alliance Relations Officer of the Mon State Federal Council. On September 16, the first online meeting was held between a team led by MSFC Chairman Nai Kaung Hroot and another team led by Dr. Khin Saung, Chairman of the MSCC, which comprises elected representatives from the 2020 election and other stakeholders.
During the meeting, both parties agreed to jointly oppose the terrorist military commission’s fraudulent election through political and military means, while also analyzing the political and military developments within Mon State. The military commission’s planned election is politically illegitimate and will not be recognized by the public. The revolutionary forces have already abolished the 2008 constitution and are progressing along the path toward establishing a federal democratic union, as explained by Nai Boon Myat. He emphasized that while the military council may control some townships in central Mon State, revolutionary forces maintain dominance in the southern and northern regions of the state.
The revolutionary forces are steadfastly working toward the fall of the military dictatorship and all authoritarian systems, while simultaneously pursuing the establishment of a federal democratic union. Nai Boon Myat warned that the military council might attempt to achieve their desired election results through violent means, and therefore the public must remain especially vigilant. Both councils have issued a joint statement declaring their unified stance against the military commission’s illegitimate election in Mon State, demonstrating their commitment to representing the interests of the Mon people and their resistance against the military council’s attempts to legitimize their rule through fraudulent electoral processes.
