The Ramanya Mon Army and Mon Liberation Army have announced their merger on September 18th to more effectively combat the terrorist military dictatorship. According to Nai Kaung Sakar, spokesperson for NMSP-AD/RMA, this merger aims to establish a Mon state with full equality and self-determination. He expressed confidence that this collaboration would strengthen their fight against the military dictatorship. The merger represents a significant step toward fulfilling the Mon people’s long-standing demand for a unified Mon army.
Members and leadership of the Mon Liberation Force (MLF) will take on responsibilities in both political and military operations of NMSP-AD/RMA. The New Mon State Party (Anti-Dictatorship)/Ramanya Mon Army (NMSP-AD/RMA) has announced their continued commitment to establishing a unified Mon army. This integration marks an important milestone in the ongoing struggle for Mon self-determination and the fight against military rule. The spokesperson emphasized that this merger would enhance their operational effectiveness and bring them closer to achieving their goals for the Mon people.
The NMSP-AD/RMA was previously formed on May 24th through the merger of the Mon National Liberation Army (MNLA-AD) and the Mon Liberation Army (MLA) into the Ramanya Mon Army (RMA). The current integration of MLF represents another significant addition to their forces. The specifics of role distribution and responsibilities will be discussed further as the integration proceeds. The unified force will continue to work alongside other ethnic revolutionary allies and people’s defense forces to achieve their objectives of establishing a self-determined Mon state and bringing an end to the military dictatorship system as quickly as possible.
