According to local revolutionary sources, the military council forces are conducting attacks using helicopters in Chaung-U Township, Sagaing Region. On March 7, the military forces conducted surveillance operations throughout the day using helicopters, and began firing attacks from the air at approximately 1:58 PM. These attacks were reportedly carried out in retaliation for an incident on March 4 where 17 military council soldiers were killed and two military vehicles were burned.
Additionally, on March 6 at around 3:40 PM, military forces stationed at the Mya Pu Lae checkpoint in Chaung-U Township fired heavy artillery indiscriminately, resulting in shells hitting a monastery in Kyi Kone village. The attack injured a novice monk and caused significant damage to the monastery buildings, as confirmed by a local senior monk. The military’s artillery strike directly impacted religious buildings and injured religious personnel who were not involved in any conflict.
Currently, the military council forces continue to conduct artillery strikes and aerial attacks in the region, prompting revolutionary forces to warn local civilians to remain extremely vigilant. The military’s indiscriminate attacks have resulted in injuries to innocent civilians and religious personnel, as well as damage to buildings and infrastructure. The ongoing military operations have created an atmosphere of fear and instability in the region, with local residents having to take extra precautions for their safety while going about their daily lives.
