A military supply convoy was attacked in Dawei Township, Tanintharyi Region, resulting in the death of 10 soldiers and the capture of military vehicles and ammunition. On August 16, a convoy of ten military vehicles delivered supplies to the Pakari police outpost. When the convoy attempted to deliver additional supplies to military camps at Kyaukmae Mountain, resistance forces launched interceptive attacks on August 18 and 19.
During the battle, at least 10 soldiers from the military side were killed, with many others wounded, leading to the complete collapse of the military column. The soldiers abandoned their vehicles and supplies before fleeing the area. Revolutionary forces managed to seize several military vehicles and weapons during the battle, while many vehicles were destroyed by fire during the fighting.
According to local sources, the military began advancing up the mountain via a mountain pass route on August 17, at which point resistance forces launched their interceptive attacks. Fighting continued throughout August 18, with battles extending into August 19. On August 19, the military suffered significant losses and found themselves in a position where they could neither retreat nor advance further. The situation resulted in the complete disintegration of their formation, with soldiers fleeing in all directions.
Following the battles, on August 20, the military conducted continuous aerial bombardments along the mountain range where the fighting had occurred. These airstrikes resulted in bombs falling on local villages, causing civilian casualties, though the exact number of casualties cannot yet be confirmed.
