A spokesperson from the Salin Township People’s Defense Force has confirmed that military forces suffered at least 10 casualties and lost one vehicle during a series of mine attacks by revolutionary forces in Magway Region’s Salin Township. The military operations, which involved armored vehicles, took place over a 12-day period from March 6 to March 17 along the Salin-Sinphyukyun and Sinphyukyun-Tanaing road sections.
On March 6, when the military column reached the Salin-Sinphyukyun road section, Township PDF forces launched attacks using mines at two locations, resulting in an exchange of fire between both sides. Additionally, along the Sinphyukyun-Tanaing road section, Township PDF forces collaborated with allied revolutionary battalion units to conduct mine attacks, leading to exchanges of fire. The military suffered casualties in these encounters and responded with multiple airstrikes.
On March 16, when the military attempted to reinforce their presence with six military vehicles from Pwintbyu, revolutionary forces launched another attack using Padamya mines along the Salin-Sinphyukyun road section. This attack resulted in the complete destruction of one military vehicle and numerous military casualties. As the military continued their advance toward the Sinphyukyun-Tanaing road section with reinforced troops, resistance forces from Tanaing sub-township (Salin PDF Zone 3) conducted additional mine attacks in the evening, leading to further clashes between the two sides.
