A spokesperson from the Salin Township People’s Defense Force has confirmed that military forces suffered at least 10 casualties and lost one vehicle during multiple mine attacks by revolutionary forces in Magway Region’s Salin Township. The military column had been conducting operations in the area between March 6 and March 17, a total of 12 days, moving through the Salin-Sinphyukyun road and Sinphyukyun-Tanaing road sections using armored vehicles.
On March 6, when the military column reached the Salin-Sinphyukyun road section, resistance fighters from the Township People’s Defense Force launched attacks using mines at two locations, resulting in an exchange of fire between both sides. Additionally, along the Sinphyukyun-Tanaing road section, the Township PDF and allied revolutionary battalions conducted joint mine attacks, leading to exchanges of fire. The military suffered casualties and responded with multiple airstrikes in the area.
On March 16, when the military attempted to reinforce their column with six vehicles from Pyay, revolutionary forces attacked the convoy on the Salin-Sinphyukyun road using Padamya mines, resulting in the complete destruction of one military vehicle and numerous casualties among military personnel. As the military continued their advance toward the Sinphyukyun-Tanaing road section with reinforced troops, resistance fighters from Tanaing sub-township (Salin PDF Zone 3) launched additional mine attacks in the evening, leading to further clashes between the two sides.
